Lightweight Sleeping Bag for Warm Nights
The Carinthia SOF 1 is the lightest sleeping bag in the new Special Operation Forces series, featuring 85g/m² of G-LOFT insulation, which makes it an ideal solution for summer temperatures. This model in size M is made for individuals up to 1,85 m. Weighing less than 864g, it is extremely lightweight and space-saving. The synthetic filling provides excellent breathability and moisture regulation. Designed specifically for military use, this sleeping bag saves valuable space in your gear and, when combined with other models from the SOF line, forms a year-round sleep system.
The Scalable SOF Sleep System
The three sleeping bags in the SOF series are designed to be flexibly combined, ensuring the optimal setup for any weather condition. The SOF 1 on its own offers a comfort temperature of +11°C and a limit of +7°C. When paired with the SOF 2, the comfort limit reaches -11°C, and combined with the SOF 3, it even reaches a limit of -15°C. Using all three sleeping bags together provides a comfort limit of -24°C, offering protection in extreme conditions. Each SOF sleeping bag is equipped with four removable color-coded patches for easy identification. Additionally, each model features internal elastic loops for attaching optional liners.
Durable G-LOFT Fiber Technology
The key to the success of Carinthia's sleeping bags lies in its proprietary G-LOFT technology, a hollow synthetic fiber inspired by the natural insulation properties of polar bear fur. The air trapped within the fibers enhances insulation and ensures high functionality. G-LOFT fibers are processed into a fleece, creating a consistent and durable insulating layer that retains significant warmth even in damp conditions.
Practical Design for Versatile Use
The SOF 1 sleeping bag features a side zipper and a generously cut hood that can be adjusted to fit snugly during sleep movements. A hook and loop closure at the top of the zipper prevents accidental opening and can be folded over to avoid snagging on clothing. For compatibility with different bivy sacks and tents, the SOF 1 is available with either a left or right zipper. An internal mesh pocket in the chest area allows for secure storage of items like flashlights or smartphones.
Sturdy Two-Way Zipper
The robust zipper on the right side of the sleeping bag includes two sliders, allowing the opening width to be adjusted to regulate ventilation on warm nights. When combined with the SOF 2 mummy-style bag, the offset zippers prevent cold spots, optimizing warmth while keeping weight to a minimum. Moreover, the sliders are non-locking, which allows for rapid opening in emergency situations.
Durable Outer Material
The outer material is made from lightweight, abrasion-resistant polyamide that offers high breathability and allows moisture to escape. The water-repellent surface is easy to clean, making the SOF 1 particularly low-maintenance, especially when used outdoors.
Differential Cut for Optimal Insulation
The sleeping bag is designed with a differential cut to ensure that the insulation layer is not compressed during movement, maintaining the insulating properties effectively.
Comfortable Foot Box
The trapezoidal foot section allows for a natural and comfortable foot position, further enhancing sleeping comfort.
Additional Heat Reflection with Thermoflect
The breathable and flexible Thermoflect layer reflects body heat, providing additional warmth without compromising the sleeping bag's breathability.
Space-Saving in Transport and Gentle in Storage
The included compression sack allows the sleeping bag to be packed down to a compact size of 14x18 cm. For long-term storage, the sleeping bag should be stored uncompressed in the included storage bag after use, or hung up using the two loops at the foot end. The provided bags feature the color-coded patches for easy identification, and the loop areas can also be used for custom markings.
